Internships

Legal Intern

Global Workers offers summer and in-semester internships, for law students. From our New York City office, interns will research issues related to portable justice for transnational migrants and assist in developing and managing a transnational advocate alliance. Spanish fluency is preferred, but not required. Unfortunately, Global Workers can not provide compensation.

Please note the following deadlines for legal internships:

We periodically take undergraduate and graduate interns, depending on our current needs and resources. Please inquire if you are an undergraduate or graduate student looking for internship possibilities.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and the names, emails, and phone numbers of two references to admin@globalworkers.org. In your cover letter, please specify which semester or semesters you would like to be considered for. Please include "Legal Intern" on the title of your email.

Bilingual (Sp/Eng) Research Intern

Global Workers seeks a bilingual or highly proficient (Spanish-English) researcher for this summer. The person will undertake intensive research and writing with regard to migration from the Mexico to the United States. Global Workers seeks to increase its understanding of the movement of migrant workers from Mexico to the United States and back again. The information will be used in multiple ways to inform our work, including expanding our website. The intern will work closely with one or more staff members during the summer. Due to small office space in Brooklyn, we hope the intern will work remotely for most of the summer. For that reason, persons outside of New York are encouraged to apply. If the person can secure the funding, field research in Mexico is a possibility.
